What Info Is Available About Any Cell Phone Number For Free?
When most of us are looking to do a reverse phone number lookup, the information we are looking for is the name and address of a person whose number has appeared on our caller ID. But in some cases, it might be useful to perform a preliminary search just to check the registered location and phone provider for a particular number before ordering a more detailed tracer report.
How can this be useful?
First, you should be aware that there is no central directory for the wireless or unlisted numbers in the U.S. due to well known privacy concerns. These numbers are scraped from the Internet, private and public records sources (e.g. court records) and then compiled into directories that can be accessed by general public for a fee.
You understand that many of these records are not updated very frequently and thus, there is always a chance that you might be getting outdated information about a phone number. For this reason, you might first wish to check the number’s issuing location and cell phone carrier. If you have a City ID enabled on your phone, for instance, you can compare the info from the City ID with the city shown by the directory for that number. And from that point you can decide whether you would like to pay for a full tracer report that will include name and address of the phone owner.
There are some directories that allow you to look up the issuing location and the phone company of any U.S. number for free. You can do a cell phone provider lookup on our site or use any other directory that supports this option.
