Real-time GPS tracking utilizes wireless technology to enable an individual to receive the actual location of another individual. But unlike the type of tracking that goes on for navigation purposes, the information used to track the location of a cell phone is actaully transmitted from the cell phone back to the cell phone company. This process is often referred to as “tracing a cell phone.”
One area where this technology has been widely used (aside from 911 and detective services) is using mobile phone GPS to track teens by parents. All teens use cell phones these days so this service is relatively painless for you and for them. Using the same device employed by private investigators, parents can see where their kids are going and how fast they're getting there.
Another application of cell phone GPS tracing is to monitor the activity of a spouse or lover suspected of cheating. In situations where this could be going on, it is imperative that the suspecting spouse snoop around the other’s activities. It might be difficult to do if you have separate cell phone plans or your partner is the one who regularly pays the cell phone bill since any tracking charges will undoubtedly show up on your bill. But if you are in charge of this, you might be able to set up GPS tracking without them even knowing it.
Because of its versatility, mobile GPS tracing has been introduced by most cell phone providers. For about an extra $10 a month parents can add a GPS feature to the phones through their provider. For example, Verizon has recently introduced the Family Locator feature that you can add to your plan.
How about free GPS cell phone tracking? There are free applications which you can download to a cell phone to send data about its location and other activities. You should note that in most cases though the phone owner will notice that a tracking software is installed on his phone, so you won't be able to spy on your partner's movements using one of such applications undetected...
